On June 30th the Susquehanna Valley Section wrapped up its first year of revitalization averaging an attendance rate of nearly 27 individuals per meeting comprised of representatives from all industries (equipment manufacturers, inspection agencies, fabricators, consultants, academia, students and government). The section would like to recognize the strong leadership team of Parisa Shokouhi, Rick Cahill, Brandon Miller, David Campbell, Thomas Hay, Bruce Pellegrino, Thomas Martin and Nicholas Shrawder for a successful year.
After a successful first year the section kicked off year number two August 8th hosting Dr. Robert J. Connor at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in State College Pennsylvania. Dr. Connor travelled from Purdue University to present on his latest NCHRP Transportation Research Board project. Dr. Duke held the attenuation of his audience throughout the entire night with his charismatic demeanor disseminating information regarding ASNT’s Engineering Council and the NDE Engineering position. The evenings event brought interest from local universities to establish a student section to further grow the NDE profession. Dr. Duke was invited to come back anytime and presented with a personalized plaque by the section Chair.

Over 30 people, including ASNT members and non-members attended the first Susquehanna Valley Section meeting of the year on 9/20/18 at Toftrees Golf Resort in State College, PA. This section had been dormant for the past several years and the officers and the board of directors were very pleased with the turnout.
