Submit a Paper to Materials Evaluation
Materials Evaluation (M.E.), the flagship journal of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, is an abstracted, archival, peer-reviewed journal. Published monthly, Materials Evaluation welcomes original papers on NDT applications and on applied NDT research. Subject matter may cover traditional and nontraditional areas of nondestructive testing.

Technical Papers vs. Feature Papers
We accept two different types of papers for Materials Evaluation: Feature Papers and Technical Papers. What's the difference? Check out the table below. What type of paper are you interested in submitting?| Technical Paper | Feature Paper | |

NDT Tutorials
NDT Tutorials follow the same guidelines as Feature Papers. Topics can be “Back to Basics” style or provide an overview of a new/emerging technology. No prior knowledge (except a general understanding of NDT) from the reader should be assumed. Submissions should follow the same guidelines as a standard feature article.
Submission Requirements
- Manuscripts should be written in English.
- Abstract should be 150-200 words.
- Illustrations (or elements of illustrations) should be limited to 10.
- All measurements should be given in SI format (International System of Units).
- In-text references are given by author and date (e.g., Jones and Smith 2021).
- The reference list should be alphabetical by last name of the first author and contain complete information (all authors, date, title, source, volume number, page numbers, and DOI number).
- Authors must assign copyright to ASNT. Preview copyright transfer here.
- It is the author’s responsibility to obtain permission to reprint elements of previously published papers or books (such as figures).
- All photographs must be submitted in high-resolution, original (label-free) files (300 dpi minimum).
- Line art must be submitted in high-resolution files (1200 dpi minimum).
