Darcy Corcoran is the Director of the National Training Society for the Quality Control Council of Canada (QCCC), with three nondestructive training and exam facilities across Canada. Prior to joining the QCCC in 2016, he was the Chair of the Materials Engineering Technology Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology for 13 years and an NDT instructor for six years.
Corcoran is currently the Chair of the ISO Technical Committee 135 Sub Committee 7, Chair of the Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) NDT Scheme Committee, and Vice Chair of the NRCan NDT Advisory Committee.
Corcoran holds a bachelor of education degree from the University of Alberta and is a Registered Engineering Technologist with the Association of Science & Engineering Technology professionals of Alberta with a Welding Engineering Technology Diploma. He has been working in the NDT field for over 34 years and has been an ASNT member for over 16 years.
Corcoran is honored to be accepted for candidacy for an ASNT Director at Large position. The ability to participate in such roles has given him the ability to give back to the community and work with outstanding individuals from around the NDT world community. Corcoran’s years as a senior manager and work with various international NDT organizations suit him well for this position to help move ASNT forward with advocacy and adopting or modifying codes.
